Welcome to the PHS Class of 1979 Reunion Website! An eventful five years have passed since our 40 Year Reunion at Embassy Suites in Greenville, and it's time for the big 4-5! This one will be a little different than the last, but it's guaranteed to be a great time. The date that has been established for the big day is

Saturday, October 26th, 2024

and the event will be a hamburger/hot dog cookout at "Fred's Back 40", at 710 Secona Road in Pickens. This venue has special significance because it was the property of our classmate Fred Anthony, who sadly passed away on October 17, 2021. Fred's sister Diane Hebb now owns the property, and in memory and honor of Fred has graciously and generously offered the use of it to our class for our reunion.

As with our previous reunions, we would like to extend an invitation to members of the classes of 1977, 1978, 1980, and 1981 to join us. Many of our friendships and experiences during our years at Pickens High School intersected with the members of these other classes who roamed the halls during the same three years we were there, and we'd love to see any of them who feel the same way.

The dress will be casual - Fred's Back 40 is a rustic indoor/outdoor setting tucked into the woods off of Secona Road, where it feels like you've been transported back in time. We'll be out there by 1:00 and will be cooking fresh burgers and hot dogs at intervals throughout the afternoon. A couple of sides will be available as well, and plenty of water to drink. Feel free to bring your own beverages that you might prefer, as well as folding or bag chairs. The event will extend into the evening until around 9:00 or 10:00, so come when you can and stay as long as you can! The primary objective will be for this to be a FUN, RELAXING, and COST CONSCIOUS opportunity for us to reconnect with our old friends and remember back on the good old days!

Cost will be $20 per head to help pay for the food and supplies. Please send your payment to Jeff Green either via Venmo, Zelle, or cash/check through the mail, and be sure to include the names and graduating year of the primary registrant, as well as a phone number I can reach you at to confirm I received it.
